So this past weekend was our overnight trip to DC. We left NY at 8am on Chater buses and it took us about 4+ hours to finally reach DC. In about the span of 3 hours we had made it through 4 different states and by the time the day had ended we had been in 5 plus the DC, which technically is considered a state in a sense.
So we had lunch in DC and then began a driving tour which took us to the White House, Washington monument and many of the war memorials. It was a pretty nice day out, but I think we were all extremely tired from our trip that we were ready to just go to the hotel and relax before dinner.
That night we go ready and went to a mexican restaurant on the waterfront, which was absolutely beautiful. After dinner a group of about 10 of us went to a local bar/club called Third Edition. A friend of ours on the trip goes to George Washington University in DC so she was able to show us all the best places to go.
Well Sunday morning came all to quickly and we checked out of the hotel, grab some breakfast and were back on the bus which took us to the Washington Monument. Form here we had about 2 hours of free time. So a group of us headed to the Holacost Museum, but unfortunately we were unable to see the main exibits becuase we were short on time.
We left DC around 2pm and did not make it back to NY until about 8:30, due to traffic. When we entered the city, we were shocked to see that there were so many people in one area, until we were told that there had been a Gay Pride Parade that day, and the city was full of "supporters".
Well that was our every so fast DC trip. But now we are back to the rain and horns every 2 minutes!!!
