Hey everyone!! So I think Shane and Kate covered all the important points of the trip thus far. So I'll focus on me and my experience. Tonight two of my roommates (not Shane), another kid, and myself went to see the Late Show with David Letterman. It airs Friday and I'll be on there. It will be near the end of the episode right when it cuts back from commercial. I am in the above crowd on the far right side of the screen. I'm wearing a long sleeved, white, shirt and am waving my arms, so look for me!! Then we all met up at a fancy Asian restaurant called Tao. Just give you an idea of how ritzy this place is- Dad- there was a Maybach parked out front, and it was only two blocks from Ferrari/Maserati, Mercedes, and Maybach dealerships. It was a lot of fun. I also got the new iPhone. I love it!
My internship:
My internship is with a magazine called Filter. Their goal is to find and promote bands/artists that labels aren't sure what to do with. It's about a ten minute walk from where we live, so I'm thankful I don't have to ride the metro every day (plus I get a lot of walking in so I don't have to feel quite as bad about not working out). There are about five other people working with me in the "office," which is actually a modified apartment. This is the most uninteresting part of my trip so far. It's not quite as eventful as Ann Hathaway's internship with Meryl Streep.
Celebrity Sightings (in order of sighting):
- Asian scientist from Jurassic Park
- Jonas Brothers (if I had decided to wait with 500 preteen girls to watch them roll up... I decided the ESPN sports bar sounded a little more fun so I didn't actually see them, but I could have if I had wanted to).
- Black Eyed Peas w/ Fergie
- Robert Pattinson (Edward from Twilight. Again... I was about 1 of 5 guys in a sea of Twilight crazed girls waiting to catch a glimpse of their beloved vampire prince during the filming of his new movie called Remember Me. He was later hit by a cab because these girls were chasing him... he's ok).
- Blonde from the T.V. show "Lost" (also filming Remember Me).
- David Letterman
- Martin Short
- All of the Models from the upcoming season of Hiedi Klum's "Project Runway"
Overall New York is awesome. There is a lot of noise pollution that takes getting used to, but it will make me appreciate the quiet, fresh aired Sonoma more, haha. Also, we are getting along with everyone very well. We started with a small group and we have grown to have a very large group of good friends. For us guys it's a dream come true! There are so few guys and a ton of girls. Anyway, that's it for me for now. Hope you all enjoyed! :)
